What is the Fearless Initiative?
The Fearless Initiative aims to unite comedians against family violence. It was created by Canberra comedian and family violence survivor, Juliet Moody.
The initiative launched in 2016 with the inaugral Fearless Comedy Gala in Canberra, uniting some of Australia's funniest people against one of our most serious problems. This event was the first of its kind in Australia and raised tens of thousands of dollars for the Domestic Violence Crisis Service in the ACT.
Our main focus is to raise funds and awareness for victims of family violence through a range of events and activities.
The initiative was started by Juliet to mark 10 years free from her own experience of family violence. Juliet is now a comedian, and understands the transformative force of comedy when faced with tough times.
The proceeds of every project are donated back into the community to help fund organisations on the front line of domestic violence support and prevention.
Our goal is to promote communities that are free of fear, and to help keep families safe.
